The United Kingdom’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL) has worked with Creavo Medical Technologies to better understand the performance and characteristics of our Corsens® imaging technology.  As part of NPL’s Measurement for Recovery (M4R) programme NPL have worked closely with Creavo scientists to review and independently verify the design and performance of the proprietary sensor technology using the laboratory’s highly specialised measurement facilities. Creavo Operations Director Andrew Mullen commented, “this type of independent measurement and quantification of the sensor performance is valuable for the confidence we have in the technology, especially from such a prestigious and independent institution. With further sophisticated modelling of the acquired data, the product can now be further refined to increase the potential scope of applications across the hospital”.

Dr Hector Corte, Higher Research Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) said “the M4R programme is specifically designed to provide world class specialist measurement science and engineering support and advice to UK companies. Our collaboration with Creavo Medical Technologies has enabled access to highly specialised magnetic measurement technologies to help advance Creavo’s technology and provided a roadmap to enhance the technology further.”

Creavo Medical Technologies Ltd is a UK-based, privately held medical device company that is developing innovative diagnostic technologies. Focused on improving front line patient care in acute medical settings, Creavo’s first application of this technology has the potential to meet an urgent clinical need in global cardiology to help physicians more accurately ‘rule out’ heart-related problems at the point of admission to busy emergency departments. Financially, the device has the potential to save individual hospitals hundreds of thousands of pounds per year.
